Community Council Minutes

9/16/2021

Attendance:

Parents: Heather Spring, JeNae Clegg, Heidi Valdez, Shantelle Eyre

School Staff: Katie Amsden, Jamie Smith

1. Mrs. Amsden reviewed minutes from the last meeting. Motion to approve minutes by JeNae Clegg ; seconded by Jamie Smith.

Trust Land Plan:

                Goal #1 Reading

                $51,000 allocated to school aides

                                LETRS assessment used in grades K-3 to report growth

                                Acadience assessment used in grades 4-6

                $11,000 Chromebooks to replace expired lease.

                Goal #2 Math

                $3,800 for Dream Box licenses for grades 1-2

$2,100 for a robotic club.  In need of a teacher to run it.  Mr. Reese will check with 4H or the USU extension to look for a partnership.  

2. New cameras for the outside of the school have been purchased with PTA gifted funds.  They are by the lunchroom, portables, and on the back of the building.  Also, the PTA has helped to purchase three new keyless entry doors.  They are the east door, back doors, and by Kindergarten. Keyless entries are not installed yet, but will be.

3. Need for feedback on uses for ESSR money.  Possible goals include: Phonics, Reading fluency, and multiplication fluency.  $50,000 is available.  Deadline is 2023.  ESSR monies cannot be used for incentives and must be measurable with data and student outcome.

5. Discuss current Trust Land Plan and Spending for 2021-2022

                $46,000 to aides

$1,000 for Heggerty Lesson Manuals

$11,000 for Chrome books for Kindergarten

$3,800 for Dream Box licenses

$3,600 for Robotics

$1,000 teacher stipend to run Robotics

6. TSSA expenditures:

IXL licenses

Behavior aide

Chrome books $16,000

7. Mrs. Amsden and Mrs. Smith explained the LETRS and 95% programs.  LETRS is the why, 95% is the how.

8. Discussed the upcoming Bond Election.  Yard signs are available.
